My skin tone is very fair, can I use a tanning bed and how long will it take to get some color?

I have fair skin and can tan. If you have never tanned before you need to tan a few minutes at first and gradually build up how long you stay in the bed. Purchase high quality tanning lotion from the people at the tanning salon that helps greatly.

I would test your skin first for about 5 minutes at a time and see how you do.

Good Luck!

If you artificially tan, you will freckle and tan too in a few weeks. You may burn as well, so follow their instructions as far as time limits. It may seem ridiculously short, but do it anyway. The lotion is very expensive that they want to sell you, but some of them have a self tanner in it that will make you seem darker, faster. These work very well and can conceal all the freckling that you will get. I buy my lotion from ebay, it's way cheaper.
Reply:Start with a 5-6 minute maximum and then build up gradually. Also be sure to keep your skin very moisturized while use a tanning bed or you will itch like crazy. Also, skip at least one day in between sessions or you will over do it. You will feel anxious to see results, but you have to be patient or you will damage your skin and get no result.
Reply:Tips for Sunless TanningSunless tanning is probably the safest alternative to getting some color without the risk of exposing yourself to the sun's harmful rays. The great thing about sunless tanners is that you can apply the product to a specific area, or all over the body, including the face. The whole process takes about two hours, not including drying time, and is best done in the evening before you go to bed. Also, make sure you are in a cool and well-ventilated area to minimize perspiration, which will cause streaking.

First, make sure to exfoliate well, for an even base application. If you plan to tan your legs, don't shave that day to prevent irritation. After showering, apply lotion and allow that to absorb into the skin for about 20 minutes.

Next, you are ready for the sunless tanner: For the face, pull your hair back in a pony-tail or headband. Apply a light, even layer to the face and neck, since this area tends to absorb product more than other areas of the body. Drying time depends on the product, but don't touch the face for 15 minutes after application.

If you are looking to tan all over; depending what areas you want to tan, you can wear shorts and a tank or t-shirt or a bathing suit. For body application, use gloves or make sure to wash your hands every five minutes to prevent orange palms. Keep a manicure or fingernail brush available to scrub the product off nails and in between fingers. If you are applying the tanner to your back, you may need some help. Spread in a circular motion and make sure you get all the trouble spots like the back of your legs.

On feet and hands, just apply to the tops, not in between fingers and toes or the sides. Avoid water or bathing for another three hours.
Reply:Why be fake like everyone else? Embrace your natural beauty! Highlight your skin with shimmering body lotions, you will look more radiant but not artificial. Plus, your skin will look a lot more healthy in a few years, not like a leather purse.
