Does your skin ever get itchy from being in a tanning bed..if so//why?

because mine does too! ah! it's driving me crazyy..and if it happens to you//do you know how to solve itt?

Does your skin ever get itchy from being in a tanning bed..if so//why?
If you are itchy after a tanning session it from one of three reasons.

1) The major cause of itchiness after tanning in a tanning bed is that you have burned. With a tanning bed burn you are more likely to feel itchy than pain. Try less time in the bed.

2) Tanning beds do cause your skin to dry out. Use an after tan lotion that is designed for tanning beds. Your salon should carry a product or can special order it for you.

3) You could allergic to the disinfectant they are using to clean their beds. Try another salon.. . maybe they use another product that you will not be allergic to.
Reply:The tanning bed dries out your skin. Try putting lotion on both before and after a session.
Reply:Heat draws moisture out of the skin. Even using a moisturizer, some of the condensed moisture (like sweat) that is formed on your skin is full of salts and other elements that dry your skin out. Especially when depleted of all water in that substance.

Use a good moisturizing lotion with a high SPF.

Ever had a burger or fries that sat under a heat lamp too long? Remember how dry and chewy it was? That is what is happening to you in a tanning booth. You're crisping your skin. And sucking all the moisture out of it.
Reply:The heat makes the skin dry! Try the lotions with the moisturizers built in. Also try to lotion before, after and all the time. I do and it works!
Reply:your skin is getting fried, try taking a shower with a scrub brush to get the dead skin off, then put on some soothing lotion or itching cream. something lke a cream or something. hope you feel better
Reply:yes it dries up your skin and also you tend to sweat so this can make you itch too. go on for less time, moisturise well before and after and try the stand up booths instead!
