How can I get my mom to let me go tanning?

I am 14 and I think that I am pale. Alot of girls in my school that are my age do it and I really want to.

How can I get my mom to let me go tanning?
in the summer go to the beach or lay outside and natural tan i think tannning salons are stupid
Reply:Don't do it. I am one of the paler people in the world and proud!! It also can give you skin cancer and it can get you to develope wrinkles early.

A natural tan looks a lot nicer.
Reply:Your mom is smarter than y ou are. Tanning is the dumbest thing you can do. Get a bottle of self tanner and use it instead.

Don't destroy your skin to be tan, please!
Reply:Then you need to know this: every time your skin gets darkened by UV rays it means this - your skin has been DAMAGED. Your mom is right - do NOT go tanning! You will BLESS me for this advice when you are older.
Reply:you do no tanning can cause cancer im with your mom you should not go
Reply:show her some facts on the health risks of tanning. i dont think its so bad as long as u go tanning in moning modderation and dont want to go tanning everyday until u look like an overbaked turkey. I dont think anything is wrong with getting a little color from a tanning bed
Reply:why do you want to be like them other girls? You should be yourself and know that being pale is all about who you are. Pale is beautiful! Be your own person. Your too young to go to the tanning salons... you know there is probably some creepy old man staring through a peep hole at you.. be carefulll You should toally watch Final Destination 3 and see what happens to the two girls that tan... SCARY! If you were my daughter I would say no tooo... but I would also make a trip to hawaii and you can tan there:) take care
Reply:I would fake it!! Get a spray tan or use a self tanner yourself. Tanning Beds are so bad for you.
Reply:Tanning is bad for your skin. It sounds like your mother knows best. You should listen to her and not expect to look like "everyone" else. Instead find ways to love yourself, by focusing on your interests and passions, and succeeding at your goals. That's the only way you'll ever be happy. Not by following the trends of the people around you and trying desperately and uselessly to become something you're not. Once you decide and focus on your goals you will have self-confidence because you'll know where you're going, and nothing anyone does or says will take that away from you.
Reply:I completely understand why you want to tan. I even empathize with you...I however, tanned off and on for about 5 years. Early this year I noticed a few bumps on my legs that were discolored. Of course, I started to freak out, thinking it might be skin cancer...I went to see the dermatologist, luckily it was not skin cancer. The crappy part is in order to have these "growths" removed...I am left with scarring. So, at your age, I am recommending that you just wait. Maybe you can strike a compromise with your mom.Maybe you can ask for the sunless tanning. Most every tanning salon offers the "airbrush" tanning. I have used it and I am very pleased with the results. It is better for you and actually looks more like a natural tan..you don't end up orange....you don't get the patchy tan or anything. When you lay in a sun bed...there are certain parts of you that don't tan evenly. Your arms don't tan quite right on the inside and under your arms...and no matter what size your bottom you can never really tan the folds below your cheeks. So really do yourself a favor and get the spray tanning...you get the same results w/out the damage. And when your 30 you will still have beautiful skin, while all of your little buddies are going crazy trying to get rid of the signs of damage.

Good Luck!!
Reply:ask her to let you get a spray on tan. She probably says no to tanning because she knows how harful it is to your skin. It make you age by causing wrinkles and damages your skin! A tan in actually an injury. And remember, pale skin BURNS! So you could end up in alot of pain, and have loads of skin peeling...which wouldn't be attractive at all. You can get a really good spray on tan at a professional salon, just start out by doing it as light as possible. If money is an option, try some of the self tanners. try something subtle and if it doesn't work, then consider tanning. But just remember, you don't have to be like everyone else. Pale skin is beautiful. (kate winslett, nichole kidman, reese witherspoon, kirtsten dunst, claire danes...and on and on and on) Just try to go with it and find clothing and make-up that accentuates it. Believe me, I understand...I have red hair and super pale skin and my mom is part native american, so she always had such a beautiful tan! I was so jealous, but now that I'm older, I love my pale, youthful skin! I'm sure you are absolutely beautiful just the way you are!
Reply:YOU WILL KISS YOUR MOM FOR NOT LETTING YOU GO TANNING, IN THE YEARS TO COME. (and they will go by fast, trust me) GO TO A SALON AND GET ONE OF THOSE SPRAY ON TANS. THEY ARE GREAT AND LOOK NATURAL. MY NIECE DOES THAT AND SHE LOVES IT. BEST PART, NO SKIN DAMAGE. YOU'LL LOOK SO YOUNG MUCH YOUNGER, WHEN YOUR 40, THAN ANY OF YOUR FRIENDS THAT DIDN'T LISTEN TO THEIR MOMS.
Reply:Your mom is right to not let you go. Tanning is very bad for your skin, it causes skin cancer and other skin problems.

I'm pale too, and it doesn't bother me at all, in fact I like the fact that I'm pale. You can always tell which girls go tanning, and I personally think it looks disgusting.
