How many times a week is a healthy amount for tanning?

Like is it somewhat healthy for once a week? Twice a week?

THANKS.

How many times a week is a healthy amount for tanning?
Please don't make the same mistake that I did. I used to go to the tanning beds and tan outside all the time. Now my skin looks like crap and I have only myself to blame. I am only 26, but people guess my age as older. My peers have much nicer, softer, dewier skin than myself.

I wish I would have listened to others who told me not to go tanning.

I can understand the desire to be tan. Instead, just pay the extra money and get a spray tan or "mystic tan." You could even go buy some self-tanner product yourself and apply it yourself.

I seriously, really, really hope you do not make my mistake!! Believe me, you do not want to have yucky skin like me someday!!

Not to mention the skin cancer risks.
Reply:Never?
Reply:sorry but it is not healthy ever, period.
Reply:yeah, like the people above said, never. try sunless tanning lotions.
Reply:none never tanning isnt healthy ( =
Reply:Never. You'll end up looking 40 when you are 25. Wrinkles will appear much quicker than normal. Stay your natural color...don't be orange.
Reply:none unless you want skin cancer by the time you're 30. try mistic tan.
Reply:Healthy? Well tanning isn't really healthy at all.

But I would think once every two or three weeks is plenty. Try lotions, some make you turn orange, but other actually work, just experiment until you find what you want.
Reply:it's not so much how much as it is what color your skin is. I mean if your a fair skin then com on. You know you can't tan really period.

If your olive, which it looks like you are from your avitar then I'd say u could get out and maybe play some game outside for a half hour, but I wouldn't just stay still and let the sun beat u down merselessly.

If your dark then I'd say u could probably just sit outside for a 20 minutes or so, but no more. U could still get bad effects from the UV rays. Remember, the sun isn't your friend no matter how tan u are. He's only there to give us light and warmth. That's about his only good qualities.

And I'm only talking weekly here.
Reply:Healthy tanning? Sorry but that is a bit of an oxymoron....there is no such thing as healthy tanning, so I can't recommend you do it at all.

Like Dakota, I'm only 26 yet my skin is starting to show the effects of tanning in my teens. People think I'm older and I'm having to fork out cash for chemical peels and laser treatments to get rid of the skin damage....and to top it all off my dermatologist says I have an 80% higher chance of getting skin cancer due to all the tanning, so I have to have my skin checked out every 6 months to ensure there are no abnormal changes to moles and freckles.
Reply:None. This can cause cancer. Try a spray tan or self tanner instead.
