Im breast feeding and I want to go to the tanning bed, will my milk supply stay?..& what lotion shall i use??

I asked my obstetrician about that and he told me as long as I covered my nipples and didn't put lotion on them it would be fine. To be safe, I wouldn't put any type of tanning lotion on. the bronzers or tingles can't be good on an infants skin. I actually found cocoa butter to be a really good lotion for tanning while I was nursing. I suggest Lansinoh for your nipples because the tanning bed can dry your skin out, which makes for very painful nursing.

ur not supposed to use a tanning bed when u are pregnant.
Reply:if you like healthy skin, stay away from direct sunlight and tanning salons
Reply:you'll probably start producing chocolate milk!
Reply:u have to ask ur doctor about it.
Reply:It is perfectly safe! Use whatever lotion you like, however either try to avoid putting it on the breasts or be sure to shower well after tanning to avoid passing the lotion onto your child. To avoid 'nipple chapping' from the UV exposure you can either coat your nipples with Lansinoh before tanning and/or get little nipple guards from your tanning salon (most places have these if you ask). However if they don't have the nipple guards (this may sound funny, but trust me, it works) you can always get a pair of the eye guards and cut them so they fit over your nipples.

Happy tanning!
