Thinking of making my on canopy and was wondering the difference of the two.
Is a ballast a ballast whether it be for flouresent or tanning bulb?
Just check it is for the right wattage of bulb.
The two types of tube are actually the same thing electrically.
The only difference is the types of phosphor that each tube is lined with.
A fluorescent tube emits ultra violet light.
The phosphor coating in the tube fluoresces and changes the UV into whatever wavelength of light you want it to.
